Since more than 1 year I wait more or less eagerly for this game. The idea to come up with Driver SF again "Back to the roots", sparked in me quite nice curiosity. Remember you look only at the rießen fun because Driver has made to the PC at the time. With Driver 2, we went sadly downhill, driving was no longer at the center - the game lost its wit.
But already the demo showed: Yep, here is another real-Driver feeling. And playing in the full version is simply addictive.
For graphics:
For me, a sensational graphics - sure, many say, some textures were not so great - but if interested, if you drift with 80 over a major intersection and thereby must respect the traffic completely on the "gap". The textures of the cars were very well made, the people look very realistic and also move very well. The landmark of SF are recognizable from a distance very sharply on the horizon. Here from me: 5 of 5 Stars!
To control:
Jaaaaa, finally - it's back: The old ride Driver. 1
You sit in an old American plate with a spongy suspension, a much too large engine under the hood, leaving the Pellen on the rear axle at every turn aufrauchen! With a little practice to succeed one the best drifts and everything looks Stunt Reif. Nevertheless, the control is not as heavy as about Arcade in NFS Hot Pursuit and Co.
Each vehicle also has its own dynamics. No desire for US Displacement Monster? No problem - with the more than 120 licensed vehicles found something for everyone. The control of eg McLaren, RUF (Tuning Porsche) or Lamborghini is completely different. Fast vehicles with a driving experience like on rails !! Also hereby make chases just plain fun! Again: 5 of 5 stars
About the story:
Of course I do not want to prejudge here. Everyone is supposed to finally have some fun in the game!
I've finished the story in about 8-10 hours.. At some points I found it really turned slightly and "oblique" - but the curiosity rose from mission to mission and in between some were there really unrealistic, but also really cool missions. So much only first: At the end of all makes sense and it really makes sense. So no unrealistic fantasy crap!
Only the many side missions (which you have to do to weiterumachen in the main story) act, the lame and sometimes "repeating", slow down and to the game
My Star: In between I might have distributed only 3 stars, but the cool end moved me here to 4 out of 5 stars.
For sound:
The sound is okay. Muscle cars with a deep Blubbersound, exotics with a high shriek - it all sounds very cool and realistic.
Some sounds could have come out a little "bitter" or "strong", but that does not spoil the fun.
The voices of the characters in the story mode are suitable and many remind me of some voice of famous actors (voice of Jericho, for example, is definitely the voice of Vin Diesel, etc.) are also a lot of really funny sayings heard that myself sometimes really right for laughter have moved!
Stars: Here I give good 4.5 of 5 stars
For Multiplayer:
Here is a great strength of Driver SF:
19 different MP modes in splitscreen and online mode.
Just a very good SC mode I find very important and is nowadays far too short.
Currently Online Driver SF makes a lot of fun: every man for himself, chase, team race and and and offer very varied gameplay. Before each race there is a brief qualifying with a length of about 1 minute. Who the task (overtaking most so as many cars as possible, Spring furthest Destroy objects) gets best meets the main race then the best starting position. Races including Hold the Flag, track Leger (remain in the slipstream of a CPU driver and so earn points), and so provide plenty of jockeying among the players and a lot of potential to the pulse and to increase the adrenaline. Here, quite clearly: 5 out of 5 stars
To shift mode:
Well, even I was skeptical at first: One should go through a key pressure in any vehicle in traffic? What is it for an unrealistic arcade garbage?
But I was taught: This ability has been very well-maintained in the game. Especially in multiplayer arise as a variety of ways that the game can develop exciting. Man hunting in Hold the Flag races the player with the flag after, but was turned by a 3. teammates? You have no verplembern 30 seconds to catch up - you get a good car in the vicinity investigated and tried the action to take immediately the flag again. Especially the demands on the player controller for thought and skillful planning, combined with the required skill level.
Of course the race without any shift function. So everyone can get their money! Here from me: 5 out of 5 stars (which I would have never thought possible at the beginning).
Conclusion:
Driver SF is one of the must-have games and surprises for any player who also has just a bit of petrol in their blood for me. The overall concept is right, the maker of Ubisoft have really back the old "Driver flair" captured and the MP mode guarantees long-term fun. Overall, for me, therefore, the full 5 out of 5 Stars!
My recommendation: BUY!
