Morricone's classic!

Once upon a Time in the West (Game me the song of death) [Soundtrack] (Audio CD)

Customer Review

Morricone probably does not need to be specially presented. Here the score to play me the song of death, the classic of spaghetti westerns. Generally interesting for friends of his music as well as for those who have seen the film.

It is questionable whether game would have reached me the song of death without Morricone's great music such a cult status. The epic images of the film are brilliantly supported and borne by equally epic and operatic arranged music. "Film music needs room to unfold can. The film has music time give to evolve" (quote Ennio Morricone). And this time he has got. As hardly another film music and action is so strongly interwoven and coordinated. Each of the main protagonists of the film was the way dedicated a main subject.

The songs are wonderful to hear from the movie as often in Morricone, also detached. The soundtrack to play me the song of death belongs to the most popular what Morricone composed. This is also the fact that this CD repeatedly reissued and in accordance Amazon product since 1988 (!) Will be sold.

I would like to highlight the following tracks:
* Track 1 "Once Upon A Time In The West", the English translation of the original Italian title of the film - which actually characterizes the film better than the German title - and at the same time cover story of the CD. A soulful, slow theme is the epic title justice especially through the singing voice of Edda Dell'Orso späherische from listening experience here.
* Track 7 "Man With A Harmonica", formulated somewhat exaggerated, it seems that the whole film is built around this tune around so that it can then be heard in the great final duel in full glory and length. The "song of death" is one of the most distinctive film soundtracks that have been posted. The agonizing wailing harmonica melody evokes threat and unrest. Although Morricone has composed countless good music, so can safely say that this impunity the most famous of his melodies is. There will be hardly anyone who has not heard the melody somewhere or you will not invariably associated with Morricone.

* Track 2 "As a Judgement", as in the movie actually comes not before. Thematically it suits Frank and that act in which his killer haunt the McBain's Farm.

Which of Morricone's countless songs is the best thing about it may lead to academic discussions, the score to play me the song of death but is certainly its most famous and popular film music.

PS: If you got through the music like and the film does not know, should look at this epic classics necessarily once.

Incidentally, there is also an issue of RCA with a total of 20 titles, ie equal to seven (!) More than on the CD reviewed here. In addition to variations of existing issues that just round out the soundtrack, for example, a beautiful theme for Morton is heard. Really essential new there is not, but for film music lovers like the extended version be quite interesting.

Summary: Morricone probably does not need to be specially presented. The Score to play me the song of death - the classic of spaghetti westerns - is certainly its most famous and popular film music. Not just for film music lovers thoroughly recommended.
