1. I Do not Care Anymore
The song offers concise drums and a sombre mood.
A very special dynamic Lovesong which is about sounds like a mix of 'In The Air Tonight' by Face Value and 'Mama' by Genesis.
The track was in 1983 coupled as a single and errechte space 39 in the US.
2. I Can not Believe It's True
My absolute favorite track on the album.
Here you can hear the funky Phil Collins - outstanding wind, a funky bassline and percussion perfect gepart with an irresistible chorus - awesome.
The song is reminiscent of songs like 'Paperlate' and 'No Reply At All' from the 'Abacab'
Sessions (Genesis 1981).
The song was in 1982 in Europe the B-side of 'You can not Hurry Love'.
He in 1983 released as a single in the US and errechte place 79 of the charts.
3. Like China
A very solemn drums and guitar song.
The track has a nice melody but heard not the strongest songs on the album, but is clearly the most rocking song on the album.
This song was released in 1983 as a promotional single in the US and errechte 17th the 'Billboard Mainstream Rock Track' charts.
4. Do You Know, Do You Care?
Another gloomy song like 'I Do not Care Anymore'.
5. You can not Hurry Love
A Motown classics with a modern twist (1982).
Certainly Collins is here vocally at the peak.
One of the few cover songs that are better than the original.
More is not to say - I think the song knows anyway everyone.
The song is the biggest hit of the album,
the single reached number 1 in the UK 1982/1983, No. 3 in Germany and No. 10 in the US.
6. It Do not Matter To Me
Another highlight of the album.
Much like 'I Can not Believe It's True', this is a very funky song with dominant horn and a funky bassline that spreads a positive mood.
The song was published in 1983 only in the Netherlands as a single and reached number 46 on the charts there.
7. Thru These Walls
Another classic, this was 1982, the first single from the album, it reached # 56 in the UK.
The track stands out because of the excellent percussion and Collins restrained vocals, also played brilliantly, reminiscent of Pino Palladino, fretless bass by Mo Foster characterizes the song significantly.
From the mood of the text and forth, the song by Genesis could be.
8. Do not Let Him Steal Your Heart Away
A superb ballad with a nice piano and strings very tastefully used. The song is just pleasant and spreads a pleasant and warm feeling. The track was released as a single in 1983 and reached number 45 in the UK.
9. The Westside
An instrumental that would fit perfectly in a 'Miami Vice' soundtrack.
Very cool and jazzy. Perfect music to hear them at night in the car.
The Phoenix Horns have here certainly its strongest presence.
Must be heard.
10. Why Can not It Wait 'Til Morning'
Finally again a beautiful ballad with a ravishing and nachdenkenswertem text. Here the piano and the strings are only played.
Collins sings very sentimental and soft. A perfect end to a perfect album. The song has also been published (only in the UK) as a single, reaching 1983 there place 89th
As I said here, there is no weak song or fill material 10 fantastic tracks. Not like today, when albums partially over 20 songs of which included but
at most 2 pieces are good.
Of the ten songs on the album 8 songs were released as a single !!
This alone is testimony to the class and quality of the plate.
Incidentally, a remaster is published '24 -Karat Gold CD 'on 18 October 2011.
So you listen to the record at times, and you will give me certainly right!
