* Wi-Fi (with WPA2 encryption option) and network connection via LAN
* Manually enter the IP address must also be possible (ie not necessarily DHCP)
* Built-in "amplifiers" (ie not a pure receiver without speakers) with at least the sonority of the NOXON iRadio
* Internet radio stations playable on the MP3, WMA and AAC set up (plus) Streaming
* Own Streaming addresses that do not need to appear in a database as well be called "Internet radio" registrable
* Management of all streams through a portal without additional software (as I often manage from outside my own computer and network favorites)
* Usable wireless receiver (at least a lot better than my damaged Noxon so I could save the repeater)
* UPnP media server must be supported (my gefritzer Speedport W920V with USB - Stick media server)
* Operability of the equipment shall be ensured even completely without remote control
* Priced not much more expensive than the NOXON iRadio successor model IRadio 300 or 360 IRadio
This flew before my real favorite (Logitech Squeeze Boom) out of the race because it does not support UPNP but touches on the special Logitech system. I had, the sound of this unit are at a friend and was amazed at what you can get out of a "kitchen radio" sounded technically.
The Noxon iRadio successor 360 ./. 300 also eliminated because the software Noxon Connect (unlike its predecessor) is apparently necessary to manage the favorites. A friend has this device and also said that the sound of the previous model also is better.
So I met with the research on this Philips unit NP 3700/12, which got good values in sound and price also appealed to me. In addition, it also seemed to meet my requirements catalog, so I decided to buy this equipment.
And what can I say: all my above points have been fully met. The sound is really a world away from what I knew of my old Noxon ago and the individual sound settings I eg when Noxon missing (there were only sound templates). I still have the sound of Logitech in the ear and - because of missing direct comparison -'m pretty sure that the sound of the NP 3700/12 at the correct settings even better (or at least as good).
My WLAN switches off automatically at night (when no device is online) from 23 clock from around then back on in the morning from 5:30 clock.
I had to enter a wireless key new - the Philips NP 3700/12 done the morning after turning his "service" without any problems. I turn the NP 3700/12 evening when not in use completely (power strip) and then again in the morning for breakfast. Everything runs smoothly and without any problems. Streamabrüche I could not watch (router is set to manual channel selection). Maybe here have some of this Rezensionisten WLAN Key problems therefore (not yet tested) because the device loses the connection to the router as it were in the current reception (including standby) (abgeschaltetes WLAN)! I need to test then.
A few nice gimmicks which adduced the device:
* Standby circuit (short press of the power button when you turn off) with storage of the last played station
Then shut down the wireless receiver module is - * ECO Deactivating also remotely possible (long press the off button on the remote control)
* Media Player WAV, FLAC, MP3 (mp3pro), WMA and AAC files can be played - exemplary!
* With integrated Cover Tags these are displayed with.
* Very good intuitive quality control - as I was the other usual Noxon.
* Connections for external MP3 Player (jack) and headphones (also, an optional Docking Station for iPod to be connected)
A USB port for a drive there is not (but is not necessary thanks UPNP streaming) - is not missed by me.
All in all a class device. Also wertig it seems to be (the design is a matter of taste). How long will it perform his duties must then prove even more but in any case the device is highly recommended.
