Choosing a lot now on the Philips Senseo HD7857 / 20 Latte Duo, with which we are very, very satisfied.
There is actually no real alternative, if you're looking in the price range up to 200 EUR.
In our opinion, other machines generate in the class either not so good and solid milk foam, or you are just not as easy to clean after the frothy milk Prepare as ours.
However, there are in this unit two points which we feel to be detrimental:
- The water tank has to be used for filling on the rear panel. If you want to not need to turn around the unit, one bit of practice to the water tank needs to be virtually blind to use correctly.
- The milk foam preparation is by escaping hot steam very loud. But that is probably because of the nature of things and can also be observed in cafes in the expensive Gastro devices.
The precursor principle of milk foam preparation in the "Senseo Latte Select" we found not so good, because there is an extra milk container, which one again has to be emptied and cleaned separately.
In the bar-Duo the suction tube made of stainless steel can be hung from the refrigerator into the milk pack, however simple.
After using the milk pack comes back in the fridge and you take a clean glass of water, in which one provides the stainless steel tube. Pressing the button milk froth and the milk foam area of the coffee is rinsed.
So if the Senseo coffee pad and it may also like macchiato cappuccino or latte drinks, while emphasis on reasonable milk foam which is served very well in the "to 200 EUR Class" with this unit. I highly recommend it.
