In the first two numbers to "surrender" you are able to fall in love at first: "My Ruin" and "surrender" are probably the catchiest songs on the album. What comes after that probably needs a little more time and patience to please; However, they are to establish with certainty that this patience will pay off! Listen to the lyrics, you take the booklet at hand, you can be intoxicated by the melodies. "Surrender" is really a Gesamthörerlebnis and in my opinion the same time the strongest Tocotronic album since "KOOK" where I "Tocotronic" and "Pure Reason Must Never Win", as opposed to some other, not small treasures! Everything is back "typical Tocotronic" - to start a disk with "My Ruin" speaks for itself. One notices that have started from Lotzow, Müller, strife and McPhail with "Tocotronic" a maturing process, they with "Pure Reason Must Never Win" courageously continued and have seemingly perfectly completed with "surrender". But let's see what will bring us Tocotronic in future all ... (I'm looking forward!) For me personally it is a pleasure to play the currently newest Tocotronic album.
