DOCs first and due to a car accident in which his vocal chords were unfortunately strongly affected, also the last real DOC Album (the following releases with almost unbearable final raspy voice clip at this point I even aware of), is one for me with the best debut albums of all time. Produced by his friend Dr. Dre awaiting the album with consistently cool beats on the DOC on his self-written "messages" raps - as a combination of a dream come true! Although released on Ruthless Records and coming through his friendship with Dr. Dre from the direct NWA environment it has done with DOC "No one can do it better" lyrically clearly stand out from the there so typical gangsta rap clichés and with his own album path to tread. His qualities in terms of lyrics and flow are undisputed and cope as lyrical mastermind of Dres "The Chronic" and some other Death Row Tracks advantage. Combining Dre and DOC delivers a first-class album. If you insert the disc and the first track echoes a "ItŽs funky enough" from the speaker contrary, you already know jap album is bold. Although the disk is virtually a single musical highlight, I would like to "Portrait Of A Masterpiece" highlighting at this point, which has a fast yet typical Dre beat and on the DOC an incredible RPM (Rhymes per minute) on the day sets including nice break -> for me a real highlight. A real shame the DOCs solo career has taken due to his accident so tragic turn. Along with Dre as a producer and his own Rhyme qualities the Hip Hop world had otherwise certainly may still appreciate some excellent releases ...
My Conclusion: 5 stars for Dr. Dre's first pay production - a thoroughly enjoyable album and loose for me Kanidat for the top 50 hip hop albums ever.
