I bought this computer HP chromebook it a few months ago for my daughter who is very satisfied. I have purchased one for home, replacing an old PC Asus has now become completely anemic and desperately slow despite the makeover I had lavished there 2 years (new faster hard drive, an extra memory module and installing Windows 7). I took a whirlwind promotional offer at unbeatable price of 250 (-24%) for the second. When I think that I had paid my old Asus over 1200 there ten years! This radically changes my traditional PCs with a Microsoft OS, which has the distinction of being more expensive (OS license fee), underperforming starting and operating (OS too complicated), less rapidly with time (number of temporary files, the registry size) and requiring very frequent updates (many security breaches and anomalies). With Chrome OS, everything is ultra-simple and super-fast. The updates are infrequent and fully automatic. With the SSD, computer startup takes in about 5 seconds and operation with software online is quick as long as you have a good Internet connection. The main negative point is very limited disk space (10 GB available on 16). HP has chosen the speed (flash memory) and reduced storage size to offer a highly competitive price. To compensate for the lack of storage space on the computer, Google offers online storage space of 100 GB free for 2 years. A large USB drive 32GB or 64GB inexpensive overcomes lack of disk space and is an external backup personal files. RAM 4 GB is sufficient for everyday use. The 14 inch screen is of good quality and sufficient size for portable and desktop use. The lower weight 2 Kgs remains reasonable, although there are better but much more expensive. The Google software online is very comprehensive and free. It can be complete through the Google Store with software or free or paid games. The autonomy of at least 8 hours is very good and enough for mobile use in day without having to recharge the battery. This computer is a very good alternative to notebook PCs with Windows OS, much more expensive and less efficient, sufficient alternative for office use, internet, multimedia and simple games.
