A little stunned ...

I forgive only one star, so this review will be read; it contains information which can be very important. I'm honestly a little shocked, both have a very negative feature of the player, which is a fatal blow, and the fact that here apparently no one wrote to something.

Caveat: I'm actually a fan of Sony mp3 players, this is by no means my first. Perhaps, however, my last. I use the player for both music and audio books and radio plays. On the whole, I was absolutely satisfied with the product, however, struck me recently of shock when I heard suspecting no evil a radio play on volume 22 (30). Because all of a sudden broke the radio play from piped the player, and the display shows "volume too high, please check" was accompanied from the fact that the volume automatically (!) To a minimum (10 or 11 I think) was lowered.

Honestly ... please what ?! How much we are actually still patronized? Is this a bad joke? Why is there ever a volume control when automatic downgrading anyway after a certain period of players and I presented this "error"?

It's not so that the player would be about scanning a particularly high input signal, after all it was a very quiet radio play, there are a few voices speaking together, and volume 21-22 of 30 is really nothing even remotely dangerous for could be my hearing. No, much more appears to me not to treat the players, times longer than 20 minutes at a time at a higher volume than to hear the third of the total volume.

Of course, I dug myself immediately through the menu of finding my fear no appropriate setting, however, was quickly confirmed. You have to live with it frustratingly easy that the player "watching" that you also yes hears his music softly. And there does not matter whether it is actually loud or not. If one wishes for example hear a long and quiet piece (approximately from the Classic range), we have been unlucky. Then you have to get into the habit of being scared every few minutes by a beep and the need to ramp up the volume again.

Is matched by another new and very "nice" gimmick: If, during a track paused, you start at another play again at volume 17 (at least) and can also adjust the volume again.

The whole thing is basically so incredibly brazen, that you could almost laugh about it. At a price of 80 EUR (and the 8 GB, which is actually already out of date) and as far as we lack alternatives I think that's not funny at all, however. Rather actually the mouth was open to me once and I thought, I'm in the wrong movie. When I think how excited I was by my NWZ A818. Long live our EU, which wants to protect our sensitive hearing.

Potential buyers should just know what to expect. The player provides everything you expect from Sony. However, one must probably expect great surprises unfortunately repeatedly.

Who knows, maybe the next NWZ-generation offers a warning against excessive consumption of certain music genres: "Be careful, you hear a lot of folk Please hip hop change.."
