I even let the processor with 4.5 GHz (1.2 V voltage) to run and cool it with a Noctua NH-D14.
Even after 60 minutes Prime95 load it does not exceed the 55 ° C limit. Absolutely harmless, since Intel indicates 105 ° C.
With more than 80 ° C, however, I would advise you to use a different cooler or to reconsider the housing ventilation.
Despite the boosted voltage, the CPU consumes at full load no more than 65 watts (meter). My overclocked to 4.8GHz i5 consumed 80 watts quite a bit more.
Thanks to the 4 additional (logical) cores, I can my videos now much faster converting. My i5 needed about 40 minutes for this task per DVD. The same task
does the i7 in 25-30 minutes.
+ First-class energy consumption
+ Excellent Performance
+ 1155 thanks base for all Sandy users without replacing the motherboard upgradeable (possibly there is a BIOS update from emergencies)
+ Adequate overclocking capabilities.
4/5 stars. Strong buy recommendation for all who work on your PC even with extensive programs.
For gamers, the CPU brings (compared to the more favorable Sandy's) hardly an appreciable performance advantage - therefore deliver a star.
