Whatever one may think, the adventure Detroit (and therefore the return of Bertrand Cantat) is a success, both public (nearly 200,000 albums sold despite radio almost non-existent and very little promotion passages concerts in sold out ...) and artistic (a disk with existing arrangements and sumptuous texts). Between pieces in contemplative mood, even hypnotic ("Horizon", "Right in the sun" ...), metaphorical songs that are chilling ("Angel of desolation", "Glimmer in your eyes" ...) rock titles ("The palm of your hand", "Null & void" ...) and Must Black Desire ("The wind will carry us", "One Day in France", "Tostaky" ...), this disc is a perfect testimony of the concerts given by the group for 6 months (I had the opportunity to see 2 times). No offense to critics, Detroit is a generous group with his audience, talented, and above all integrity. For me, the only TRUE rock band in France now, away from the sentimentality, the attitude and hypocrisy poseuse other formations ... A disc store next to those of Black Desire (of course), but also Daniel Darc and Alain Bashung.
