Indeed, the author seeks mostly to recreate meat in conventional plant version (as it also explains in the introduction): you shepherd's pie without meat, chorizo ​​seitan, tofu "scrambled" soy and other vegetable stew cheese. This is not disturbing in itself, but here more than 2/3 of the recipes are based on this principle. I find that unfortunate.
So, the author uses much tofu, soy protein, and seitan, and there are few truly original recipes. Note still soft okara cookies, salty cupcakes tex-mex, lemonade strawberry tarts 100% apple-raspberry fruit and some other recipes.
