But now the music:
The album starts out dramatically fast. "Welcome Home, Luc Robitaille" is a sweeping piece, which features a catchy chorus. "Killer Kaczynski" offers quieter passages and a geschrienen chorus before then "Long Before Rock'n'Roll" prompting by the changing song of the two singers to dance. This piece is never boring and is a perennial favorite.
Now the album is calmer. With "The Wildfire" follows a piece that stands out above all by its beautiful text. "You do not understand me", however, is the first song, which can not compete with the rest of the songs. Too simplistic is the text and to dull sounds of the entire song. Towards the end it is better, but anyway this song is one of the more worse the plate.
After that, it gets louder again. "TV & Me" and "Tony Zoulias" are two very loud numbers that swept like "Long Before Rock'n'Roll" a. Especially the chorus is managed in two pieces. "Amsterdam" on the other hand without waiting for "real" chorus, but impresses with his witty text about the Auenthalt the lead singer Gustav & Björn in Amsterdam.
After that, it is very quiet. "The New Boy" is the saddest piece I've ever heard. Gustav's voice sounds different than in the rest of the songs, what makes this song even further to highlight the plate. "Josephine" on the other hand is not very catchy. The text is good, but the song does not come to the point. It bubbles so to himself. Therefore, it is the second song of the plate weaker. This does not mean that it was not worth listening to.
Then it's back on quickly. "Morning Paper Dirt" is a typical feel-good song and "Song for Aberdeen" somehow reminds me of the Beatles songs. Both songs are large numbers who will not get bored. "Good Morning, Herr Horst" is probably the catchiest song of the plate. The text is indeed serious, but the music is true positive. The simple chorus, which consists only of "lalala", fits perfectly and makes this song an anthem.
Finally follows a very slow song. "Ochrasy" accompanied only by a guitar. Björn shows impressively that he is a very good singer, while we may get to know his "Ochrasy".
Finally, let me say that this record is a real evergreen in my Anlanger. The songs are never boring and you realize that Mando Diao have fun with music. Gustav's voice is defiant and arrogant, while Bjorn voice has soul. This mixture makes the album. However, one should also remember that the lyrics are often very difficult to understand, since they usually give at first glance no sense.
I highly recommend this drive all indie fans and fully'm going to also set the other panel by Mando Diao in Zunkunft.
