As a complement to my Fritz box I bought, because of the very poor transmission power of the AVM device, a DECT repeater. The choice is not so great and so I decided quickly for the product of the brand Hama, not least because of the name of the company. The picture does not recognize how small or large the unit is and I was still pleasantly surprised by the format, with a front area of 12 x 13 cm, the device can still very well in the apartment 'hide'. However, what surprised me was the negative installtion routine. A distinction is made between an automatic and a manual installation. The automatic did not work with me and the manual is a technical adventurers. First, it is necessary to reset the device by using a stopwatch. It separates the power only for 1-5, then again for 25-35 seconds. Then you have to run to the telephone system, put them in the search mode, then back to the repeater (the so possibly is on a different floor) and then pay attention to whether a small red light now flashes quickly with interruption or quickly without interruption. My unit was blinking slowly, which was not described in the manual ... After several attempts I finally had a rapid blinking and now had to close with their phones, the registration procedure. After the Repeater blinked for a while fast and slow, until finally appeared the expected continuous light and the repeater worked. Compared with other products (eg the WLAN Repeater by AVM), the device is not at all easy to use and far too expensive.
The actual purpose, to expand the reach of the DECT signal satisfies the device, so there is still 3 stars.
