When I received the disc, I have the same times losgelegt and installed it. The Bios she recognized as the old board. Then I installed Windows XP and the same following the dual boot Linux Mint. Both works are as in the old, lame IDE hard drive. The fan is now a little quieter though still under XP is still running, while on Linux it behaves better and almost does not run. The heat is down by about 10 degrees. The CPU has to toil less and the hard disk itself straining to moderate heat not to, even after hours. The read / write speed is really great, feels almost like Sata.
With a 8800 Ah battery (not original Toshiba) I have purchased subsequently, the notebook provides about 3 real hours, while the clock says 4 hours. I know over tablets is the nix. But I can not live without CDROMs and a resonable keyboard and an anti-reflective screen!
