For people who are very familiar with it (like me) it is to configure the router no problem.
But as well as to all other users should be considered, I would like to now declare my criticism for User-friendliness:
1. There is no printed manual! (Only a Quick Start Guide + CD - which makes sense, more or less - is on the CD itself (where I still had) no manual in PDF but only a link to the Internet, where it can be found only in English - so if you a manual needs to set up the router and therefore not yet come into the Internet, out of luck.)
2. In the Router menu itself almost every helper figures have been translated from a man who probably of art has 0 clue.
3. If you want to use in any way a device composite of Repeater / Access Point (the Netgear can be used as both acting) Note that the Note that this only works with the law uncertain and outdated WEP encryption, is hard to find.
(Although this is all bones so - and ITler know this, but lay not ehr - right?)
If it is found then we read it quite simple:
Quote: "Wireless Point-to-Point Bridge (Point-to-point connection)
In this mode, the DGN3500 only communicates with another wireless device in bridge mode, and wireless client association is enabled. Transferred Enter the MAC address in the appropriate fields (physical address) of the other wireless device in ein.Mit WEP bridge mode traffic is safe (encrypted) (recommended). "
It is therefore not go anywhere pointed out that there ausschlieslich goes with WEP.
Shortly the actual technical equipment (the figures vary a bit, depending on where you reread - therefore I mention it again):
- 4x Gigabit LAN
- WLAN to 300Mbit / s
(There are probably installed 2 internal antennas, if I have understood correctly ...
[So no MIMO 3 antennas.] ... But before better than one).
- WPS possible
- WiFi and router switched on and off separately
- Router can be used as a repeater or as an access point.
Installed modem -
- USB 2.0 (only devices need not have its own drivers available: So USB sticks, hard drives, etc. But: No printers, etc.)
Price / quality is great! Therefore: Buy.
But to all routers technically not so experienced users: Better stay away - or someone who knows about praying for help. Note: With this device the devil prick in detail: to set a hook to remove forget / and you're nothing!
