Napoleon and the last campaign - The Hundred Days 1815 (Paperback)

Customer Review

I loaded my dad, big history buff and particularly Napoleonic history to read this book and give his impressions.
They are:
This book is very well written, well aware of the historical facts and are clearly LOEUVRE a specialist. Reading was easy and pleasant, some recounted episodes are sometimes ignored and others seen in detail (like the Emperor's exile on the island of Elba).
However, it lacks visual, prints, paintings (though many of the time) and especially maps. There are some, but not enough. For a neophyte on this time and Napoleon's battles, reading can be a bit tedious and have additional visual would have overcome this problem.
This book is a bit "between two" probably too "writing" for someone who does not know much, but who wants to learn, and not detailed enough for someone who already knows it.
