* Design: Top!
* Processing: Super!
* Supplied accessories: almost completely (wireless dongle, 2 3-D glasses)
* Remote control: High quality with precise pressure point (unfortunately without learning function)
* The image: top! (Out of the box in THX mode)
* Sound: For a flat-screen TV, thanks to the integrated sub - class!
The feature integration leaves little to be desired: 3D (incl. 2D / 3D conversion), triple tuners, PVR function, Internet access and DLNA streaming (video, photo, music) via LAN or WLAN, etc ...
HOLD! This is where Panasonic has sloppy unspeakably. Out of sheer feature integration has unfortunately left out the user and placed less emphasis on the usability of these features.
Here are examples of "my" practice:
Listing Services save:
Especially with a triple tuner and optional Pay-TV (thanks to an integrated CI slot) come as no less than 200 stations together who want to be sorted by a scan. Panasonic advertises that these channels can be stored on a storage medium in order to edit this channel list easily on a PC can - a quite meaningful and time-saving idea. Too bad that the channel list can not be stored on a USB flash drive, though 3 USB ports are available, but only to a SD memory card. In my case, that meant going again and buy a memory card, which I otherwise have no use. Saving then went though afloat by equip but unfortunately can this stored list (bin file) do not work with the PC, because this requires a special editor that it according to Panasonic hotline "maybe" to give in November :-( . To make matters worse, that after re-tuning the stored stations sequence is shot up partly and the manual sorting Marathon starts again.
Internet access:
Unfortunately, the Internet access is limited to the channels that have been approved by Panasonic. There is even an own App Store! Free Internet is still not possible, not even a browser app from the Store. This is doubly a shame, because on the one hand you can probably connect a USB keyboard (not tried) or use the TV much more convenient and using virtual keyboard on an iPhone / iPad app.
PVR function:
That was the killer feature for me: Integrated HD Satellite Receiver with PVR function. But Panasonic wants the user probably also necessary to have to buy an additional DVD recorder because this feature is unfortunately little implemented in practice. So must be manually selected the USB hard drive when programming a program every time, as the default setting "extRec" (eg a Panasonic DVD recorder) can not be change. If you forget the changing, the recording is unfortunately lost.
Since especially have no exact continuous watches in their broadcasting the private TV station apparently, it is recommended for satellite reception (no VPS signal) For safety, always set a few minutes prior and subsequent. When the VT30 now leads that, for example, not the recorded "James Bond" film gets displayed with the set forward in the list of recordings, but the "night-Journal" which then ran. My 8 year old Topfield PVR receiver has managed it all right, the top plasma from Panasonic failed here miserably. Edit this list subsequently does not go the VT30 course. If have accumulated over time a few shots, then the index is in the Recording list 0. But for that you can even connect a 2TB drive.
The worst thing for me is: this PVR problems were already known in the predecessor and VT20 (statement Panasonic hotline) were early criticized repeatedly by customers. Actually, it should not be a problem with a new firmware to change this misbehavior user- and customer-friendly but Pansonic "WILL" This does not seem, because otherwise you would have these errors can fix the now present successor at the latest. Thanks Panasonic.
