Style:
Both baby monitors are kept simple. Philips said different by its 2
Colors more colorful appears. The NUK is completely white.
The parent unit from Philips is upright and is supported by the belt clip. The NUK
on the other hand is level and unfortunately does not have a belt clip.
The display from Philips is slightly smaller than that of NUK. Both have a color monitor.
The baby units, however, are completely different. Philips has the baby unit small
and compact held. NUK other hand seems very clunky, but looks also not
such as toys and does not feel in the hand, in contrast to Philips, as well as on. This
applies to both the parent unit and for the baby unit.
By design wins for us personally the NUK. But that may see each other.
Features:
Philips has kept the features spartan. On the parent unit, there are Loud, Soft
Regulators, on the same controller, you can still adjust the brightness of the display.
There is also on the side of the on / off button, the button for the voice activation mode,
a button for selecting the children's songs and to start and stop the songs.
That's it for now.
On the baby unit there is only the night light to and from switch.
This field will win for us clearly the NUK. This clearly offers more functions.
Whether these are a must, everyone must decide for themselves. The temperature display we want
not to miss, and the intercom function any more. This is also the biggest shortcoming
the Philips baby monitor. Because there is not present. For us, the function is but
of great value. Our daughter sleeps on top and with Philips we should firstly always
run up and go into the room of the small second. Thus they would be back
fully awaken. The NUK a short whispering and the little sleeping peacefully enough
on.
Coverage:
Again wins the NUK. The range of Philips is indeed fine, but the NUK
enough here quite a bit further. Is more than a wall therebetween, having the
Philips has problems. The NUK however, then still 2 bar reception. For us
also very important. 2 floors difference if you sit outside in the summer. This creates
the Philips barely.
Battery life:
Last but not least also here the NUK wins clearly. In continuous operation the end, so the image
Always, the Philips goes much too quickly the "juice" out. Also the Eco operating ranges
not manage to connect the NUK.
Conclusion:
The NUK beats the Philips baby monitor for our needs by far.
