Here are my main impressions and what I noticed when experimenting with the camera:

Positives:
- All settings available (. Of automatic about various settings to Manual)
- Adjustable is: aperture, shutter speed, ISO, exposure compensation, white balance, image effects, self-timer, metering mode, AF mode, etc.
- Picture quality is very good
- Live View option on the screen - top works, but needs a lot of battery
- Battery life (after half a year now) is huge!
- The kit lens has a weak zoom with 18mm wide angle good, with 55mm. You can choose between auto / manual focus and select an image stabilizer is also installed.
- The lens can exchange and forward it there thread for diaphragms, filters, etc.
- Held operation surfaces very easy
- Camera is relatively small and light - but is great in the hand
- Photos in JPEG or RAW with adjustable size
- Included software is great for beginners but quickly reaches limits (am now switched to Photoshop). The software can RAW development, Panorama, HDR and some edits.

Negatives:
- The display has as its pitfalls: The images are exposed on the laptop other than it looks on the screen. It's just very difficult to compensate for in the beginning: My tip if it is rather too dark on the screen, then adjusts the exposure.
- The display eats most battery life - in Live View you realize it most
- Provided there is no SD card !! Took me 20 extra again and tasted a visit in the media market.
- Camera pushes in difficult lighting situations at borders (but is more for professionals is a problem)
- Blitz is pretty useless for most situations
- The kit lens has a weak zoom, wide-angle makes me happy. The aperture is max. F 3.5 to F36 adjustable (depending on focal distance)
