Pleasing performance

Initially I thought it would be a mean machine, but no, it's a very good machine.

The actual features of this computer are above what is indicated on the form.
The RAM is 4GB and is very fast, it's DDR3 SDRAM, as on the E1-531.

The USB port level, is also well served, there are 2 USB ports on the right side 2 and a USB port 3 on the left side. (I think it's the same for the E1-531).

There is a player / CD / DVD and can even use rewritable CD (RW).

There is also an SD card reader on the front left of the 4 status LEDs (drive / battery / bluetooth / on-off)

The wireless link level: Wifi and Bluetooth are at the rendezvous.
For there is a wired RJ45 socket.

The screen has a diagonal of 15.6 inches and it is 16 / 9th.
The visible surface of the screen is indeed 19,5cm by 34,5cm corresponding to the harmonious proportions of 16 / 9th.

The heat dissipation is through the left side and is effective. In normal use I measured from 25 to 28 degrees temperatures on the keyboard (28) and the screen (25). Technology has advanced, on my old laptop I was about 8 degrees warmer. (I will continue to use it as a radiator).

It is quiet, the hard drive is inaudible and you do not feel vibrations. Really discreet.

Another strong point is the MousePad. A good big MousePad 10.5cm by 7.5cm. This is roughly double that of my old laptop. Its texture is not smooth. This recall some lattice jeans but you get used quickly. (Especially that everything he proposes is very interesting)

The keyboard is well ventilated, it is QWERTY and has a digital keyboard apart. However no LED and no indication of whether it is digital or not locked. Well, I'm not sure that's essential because the keypad has its special place.

For typing it going, with the habit it will be as fast as on a conventional mechanical keyboard. The spacing of the keys is very pleasant. In fact the designer won instead by integrating keys together. (The left Shift and Enter keys) But it is much more successful than the keyboard that I see in the pictures. I thought the keys were integrated bother me but no, no discomfort.

There is a video output to another screen and an HDMI socket for high tech televisions.

There is an integrated webcam at the top of the screen and a microphone at the bottom of the screen.

Next operating system, the machine comes with Windows 8 64-bit.

Coming from XP without going through the steps 7 and Windows consort, I was a little distant.

So here's my advice if you are in the same situation:
1) Create -as it you will invite- a Microsoft account with an address on anonymized Live. It is free. This step is necessary otherwise you can not install Windows 8.1. (I tried, the store did not even offer it if you do not have this account)
2) Reconnect on the blind and now install Windows 8.1. (Of course you thought to keep the cord plugged in and wired internet connection, yes I see you)
3) There is a principle to understand: there is virtually two offices and it switches to each other with the Windows key.
At start you on the new office with dynamic tiles much like the Nokia Lumia Winphones. It is a concept that defends itself, it's colorful, it's dynamic, it scrolls is filled with small panels of information you can change the size and locations.
4) To find the office "classic", press the Windows flag and simultaneously D.

Side technical evolution, the underside of the computer has a hatch that provides access to the hard disk and memory modules. (Just 4 screws)

The manufacturer wanted a clear space, so there is no indication on the keyboard to see where the ports are located. It is a choice and ultimately this is not so bad. The symbols are molded into the shell (no risk of erasing time) and are visible when viewed from the sides.

No lock screen, you can fold / unfold the screen freely and put almost flat.

Side image and color, no complaints, it's clean, not too Flashi nor too neutral, everything is adjustable with onions.

His side, it is good. The stereo is made by two speakers below the front feet. The headphone jack is available on the left. The Realtek High Definition Card allows precise management of sound. You can access its settings by clicking the speaker icon and then on the big speaker that appears. When I want a good listen, I plug headphones in large atria then I will improve in the panel, I check "Equalizer" set to "Club" and I check "EQ loudness". It is also possible to set A to Z its own equalizer.

A similar price, I made the choice of this machine rather than the E1-531 for the processor, frequency and battery life. (I did not need the 0.1 Ghz difference and I old applications that behave better with a Pentium)

Side autonomy, I feel it goes far beyond the announced 4:00, at least for my use. The battery indicator shows the percentage of battery and click it indicates an estimated time according to current activity. And often I have over 6 hours with full battery. Now everything depends on your activity.
