It is very beautiful, simple and bright, very "class" and it fits discreetly under the slabs (32 to 50 inches according to Sony).
The connection is childish: High Speed HDMI socket (not included, but the optical socket alternative to HDMI is it, in the box) to plug into the HDMI ARC jack on your TV and the HDMI ARC jack HT-XT1, AC outlet to plug in and that's it!
The HT-XT1 roughly synchronizes automatically with the BRAVIA Sync system of your Sony TV, but I who have a Samsung TV, simply go to "MENUSystèmeAnynet + (HDMI-CEC) ENTER" and select Anynet + (HDMI-CEC) to be set to "On" and finally select "Receiver" to "On" (your HT-XT1 is a "receiver" in Samsung vocabulary.). Voila!
The remote control is small but easy to use, to select the different presets and also put more or less forward voice or dialogues in movies.
As for the sound, contrary to what is sometimes said here or there on the Internet, I find very pure, very clear, very powerful and very dynamic, especially in "MOVIE" and "MUSIC". The voices are very clear, and although the enveloping spatial music, we hear a lot of details that go unnoticed with only the TV, and access slamming loud music with astonishing dynamism and super friendly terrain. The shots, too, are frighteningly realistic with some volume! Both HP are not serious at all ridiculous and low snore vigorously as soon as engine starts or a bass drum is struck violently! In a large room (about 40m2), the sound fills the whole space well with a lot of energy and power is more than enough to make you deaf, or disturb many neighbors (no offense to the snobs who want to denigrate all that is not bulky with its 7.1 subwoofer, to put in a castle reception room with no neighbors 10 kilometers ... Certainly spatialization of a 5.1 or 7.1 system must be necessarily better but the price and size are not comparable and everyone has not the budget or instead) !!!
In short, for those who want a fairly small shelf in one piece, super simple to install and already a big sound with powerful, clear and invigorating, this plateau is really very good, in addition to not being very expensive, although purists will want me not to develop large and expensive home cinema systems!
