The thermometer beeps when switched on and when it is ready to take measurements. Set in a pleasant tone with a comfortable volume level and should therefore not even bother with a headache. In addition, I consulted an old thermometer for temperature comparison and could not detect any serious deviation. So I would say that it works pretty accurate. In addition, it has a flexible rubber tip that will not affect cold.
