My hardware:
===============
ASROCK B75 Pro3-M
Intel Core i5 3570K
AMD HD6870
8GB DDR3 Corsair XMS3
Case: Antec One
Artic Freezer Xtreme Rev. 2 CPU Cooler
120mm case fan front, top and rear
Appearance:
======
I do not have much to say: As with my old P6 2006 a super optics, no longer glossy but matt black. No burrs or sharp edges.
Fan / volume:
==================
Inaudible. My power supply is installed at the bottom and as you can hear the NT eh rather less out. The Silent Wings fan is not even identify when approaching holding the ear. My loudest component in idle is now clear the old SATA2 HDD (scratches and whistles).
Power:
=========
Intel CPUs the generation Ivy Bridge and later are no more power-hungry, as long as you do not overclocked. The graphics cards consume less than they used to, so the 430W range from easy for a gaming PC. The promised 430W are respected.
Fuses:
============
UVP (Under Voltage Protection): If the voltage drops below a certain tolerance value, the PSU automatically switches off.
OVP (Over Voltage Protection): If the voltages above a certain tolerance value rise, the PSU automatically switches off.
SCP (Short Circuit Protection): In case of short-circuit this feature prevents damage to the core components of the PSU.
OPP (Overload protection) If and requires more power from the PSU than it can afford, will cause this fuse.
OCP (Over Current Protection): If the load on a single line is higher than permitted, the PSU automatically switches off.
Especially with be quiet! it usually gets all important backups in the "under 500W" price category, as well as the L8 430W.
Cable:
======
ZT very short because I had to try, as which line is best and it still creates in the sidewall Antec One (Midi Tower). Longer cable would be advisable and owner of Big Towers have to look for another NT.
Also, I find the hard drive cable is not so nice: At each end sits a fat IDE power connector and between the SATA power connector. In times of pure SATA devices downright medieval!
The cables are indeed gesleeved but clearly visible bothers me rather less. The cable management system is more of a marketing gimmick: One must usually eh all cable block (up to a HDD vll cable.)
Because it'll bring me also modular no more space in the housing, longer cable would be me because I'd rather!
Scope of supply:
============
Black screws, cable ties, manual
Conclusion:
======
The power supply can not be beat for the price and the performance offered. I have long compared (Enermax, Super Flower, Corsair etc. pp.) And am back at be quiet! landed.
+ Ultra-quiet fan
+ 430W power are complied with
+ All the main fuses on board
+ Delivery well (thanks for the black screws!)
+ Packaging very high quality designed and reusable
+ The price is reasonable, already relatively cheap (I can not find any real alternative).
+ - Cable management - does not help much, unless one buys vll other (longer) cable
- Cable short arg, even in a mid tower a Gefrickel
- Both HDD cable nervous with their thick IDE power connectors at each end. A pure SATA Power cable I would have preferred.
I would buy this again NT, especially the price is very good. While other manufacturers cheat in the efficiency or omit fuses, you get the best overall package here.
