Excellent camera, with a splendid rendering for compact

Certainly, in terms of price (close to the first SLR), it was desirable that Canon design a little jewel of technology. The manufacturer, however, did not simply stack the technological prowess in his camera, he took the time to think and conceptualize it so that it can be suitable as a novice person in the photo only a veteran. This deserves to be noticed because it is still too rare in products available today that simplify to the extreme that they allow the classical duality no adjustability for Dummies / a billion settings (including 2 / 3 is not used!) for semi-professionals, never just measure.

Canon therefore innovates for using this device with meticulous adjustments or without any adjustment (the device then makes the job all alone). In both cases, the photos offer a beautifully rendered. Having tried the unit for the "Festival of Lights" Lyon, night photos without flash are exceptional (as I had resigned myself to do for several years out the reflex for this type of festivity, the compact with pictures too grainy). With this model, the damage is repaired and the quality objective allows pictures of relatively far with an almost perfect detail. I will not go further into the technical details that previous reviews have already widely (and well!) Relayed.

Regarding the video, however, I have to stop myself: the "Powershot S100" offers to film in "Full HD"! And it is at this point that your fine reflex you would almost seem obsolete ... The video was not that the name "Full HD" to make nice, quality is indeed here again at full appointment . So beware because you'll quickly taste and train station to take the memory card too small to bear everything (my poor 4GB screams in agony!).

The exterior finish is faux sandstone is very pleasant to the touch and gives the real feel that Canon has worked on his product to produce a camera combining classy aesthetics and quality.

In the end, a great device with a single light on its battery flat: intensive use empty pretty quickly. Buying a second battery can be useful if the device is intended to be used for long walks (short, far from electrical resources!). Aside from that, it's all good. And for those who swear by the DSLR or bridge, you'll be amazed by the capabilities of this device!
