If the base of the Leica DISTO D2 on a smooth, flat surface is (polished marble plate, etc.), it measures very precisely, with a very good compliance to the length values in often repeated measurements on the same measurement path. But if one has only harsh, often uneven plaster as a base pad and the measurement is made by hand, so the measured values with the D2 are often very inaccurate. You then never knows what measurement result now represents the exact length value. Inaccurate measurements arise only by a shake of the laser beam during the measurement process. The device measures only accurate when the laser beam has a stable, jitter-free location. The only exception is the continuous measurement here.
Therefore, the Leica DISTO D2, so as to get it to his small base, less suitable for accurate architectural survey.

I therefore built myself a useful adapter, which expands the base of fully unfolded base sheet of approximately 24 mm to 100 mm.
