No hit album, for a Grower of the most common type

Can tell me a the times? In both major dailies my home region, the authors have complained that "High Hopes" again (?) Not the expected (?) Has become late work. Come down there, people! I mean, Bruce Springsteen has ever uttered somewhere to want to make one? And what are the characteristics of a "late work"?
The answer was not needed because the 18th studio album includes the boss not strictly a new song, but mostly cover versions and admissions. The title song "High Hopes" was originally released 19 years ago! Whether the reason for this release in the fulfillment of the mega-deals is to search with Sony, is beyond my knowledge, but it would be quite possible. Springsteen himself writes in the liner notes: "This is music I always felt needed to be released." The types that appear in the 12 songs, "earned a home and to be heard."
I can see that now even so, but the path to it was long. "High Hopes" is not a hit album, but a collection of songs that has to be worked out. Songs like the fact for "The Rising" envisaged "Harry's Place", which has a certain DIRE STRAITS flair (including Genuschel à la Mark Knopfler, with which it Springsteen on this record, however powerful exaggerating), "Heaven's Wall" with its Gospel character or the restrained, even hesitant story "The Wall" act initially very unimpressive. The critics of time has with his scolding therefore quite right, but only in some places. He has far too much like it, go on down the album, with the motto: "Look, I pee the boss's leg!"
Basically anything foolish chatter, because a "High Hopes" is quite clear: If Springsteen and his fellow musicians started animated and full of fervor, while still occur even after 40 years compositions and interpretations that go a teeth on edge. Von wegen "Please stop, Boss!" Alone because of "American Skin", the secret highlight "Down In The Hole" (a remnant of "The Rising") and the rock version of "The Ghost of Tom Joad" HAD this album are published. In the latter lays Tom Morello (Rage Against the Machine, AUDIOSLAVE), the driving force behind this output, with an intensity going on, as I have not seen since "The Kingdom of Heaven" by Melissa Etheridge. Perhaps "Three Solos for eternity," as some Springsteen-disciples rave, a bit too ambitious, but that part is madness, just madness! However, I must here, as opposed to "Kingdom", do not cry ...
It is quite clear that this level is not to keep more than 56 minutes. This leads to a qualitative gradient with which one must get along for now. Is it beyond this point, one may "High Hopes" not to miss.
Those who still grieves, not to get presents here the mainstream Springsteen, will enjoy all the more on the bonus DVD. This provides 66 minutes of the concert in London's Olympic Park from 30.6.2013, namely the complete "Born In The USA" -Klassikerwerk. The gig is for Springsteen ratios "only" good, but "Glory Days" and "Dancing In The Dark" always light!
And who now still a "late work" will, should times "Hunter Of Invisible Game" listen. Ever: Gnarled, growling and creaky enough is the thing, especially on vinyl.
