I was already impressed by the self-titled debut album Emigrate. Now, the aptly-titled sophomore appeared after a huge waiting period of seven years "Silent So Long". One senses from the first moment that it was not an ego trip by Richard Kruspe with Emigrate but the musicians are here as a unit at the factory. Despite the considerable number of guest appearances of other musicians / -Innen not a single song out of the ordinary. A song like "Rock City" is made for Lemmy, "Hypothetical" provides a Marilyn Manson in top form. Also genre foreign musicians like Frank Dellé of Seed in the single "Eat You Alive" or Peaches in the song "Get Down" fit like chalk and cheese and give the album a depth. However, one of my favorites of the album is the title track "Silent So Long", which can hear from grain at the microphone Jonathan Davis. However, is this is a duet, because Richard had already sung the originally planned only for Jonathan song because it threatened terminlich falling out of the frame. Having made within the band prevailed different opinions about the better voicing the song, it was decided to use two of the best singers Parts. This is a perfect success, the two voices blend perfectly together, which increasing song structure makes its own contribution. Other favorites of mine after hearing it once the semi-ballad "Born On My Own", the great Richard intoned and the Industrial catchy "Rainbow".
Also on the album is again Richards girlfriend Margaux Bossieux heard as a background singer and also on the song "Happy Times" and adds Richard terrific. In addition, you can see them in the video for the single "Eat You Alive", in which she plays the bass.
This album has all of something- a shot Glam Rock, Industrial Metal or Hard Rock and garnish the whole thing to a perfect whole. Unfortunately, there will probably be also to this album again no live performances, which is all the more regrettable in this work in the hindquarters and such a performance increase of Richard's voice.
But after all, it is probably time to give deulich faster successor to this CD. Can be heard from the house of Rammstein, that except a planned documentation not much is planned. The plans for the third Emigrate work, however, are at an advanced stage ...
