Inserting the batteries is a gamble, because you do not know where plus and minus located. It helps the experience that negative (mostly - or always?) Is on the resilient lips. So it is fortunately also here. A look at the manual, however, shows two "+" - and "-" - symbol at the bottom of the battery compartment. A closer search I found it also, before I had held for burrs. This could represent also significant. The next adventure is to close the battery compartment - consistently report as all reviewers. It is so simple. Near the marked arrows located in the lamp and a ridge in the cover a "channel". These must be placed to cover - and "it works well with the neighbors." But you do not twist the rotatable plate please with the spring ends in the lamp - otherwise you have created trouble. And to close the battery compartment in the dark, I think is impossible. Having built no honest and just functioning bayonet lock here is a big minus point of the designer!
The lamp base is largely molded from rubber, so that the lamp is slipping on almost any surface. The upper part can be unscrewed - and a decent bayonet lock is installed - so please, but it comes.
And batteries are inserted, a green LED above the power key starts flashing. That's on the one hand and annoying consumes power, but it is very helpful to find the lamp in the dark, if you have settled for. B. as campers just in the smallest room and the motion is, as usual, set too short and, moreover, does not respond to your "flight tests". Oh - you know that! In this unfortunate situation you are glad to have this lamp case - ie never forget.
Some reviewers recommended to store the batteries separately to prevent flashing when unused for long periods of the lamp. I do this by a simple piece of paper, the I contest as insulation between batteries and lamp base. This has just as good - and I never have to look for the batteries.
The lamp has four modes: Off with flashing green LED, Level 1 (weak light), Level 2 (strong light) and flashing (eg as alarm light) that you each "play through" must. Here me a separate on / off switch and a selector switch would have preferred - but that's probably a concession to "waterproof".
For power consumption and battery life the manufacturer says:
From - 2 years for flashing LED
Level 1 - 6 days
Stage 2 - 3 Days
Flashing - 10 Days
This means that at 4h / day in stage 1 to 36 days a set of batteries is due. That's not bad, but the man usually reacts instead to act and buying new batteries only when the old have failed. And they always fall out at the wrong time - or is it just me? That's why I'm thinking about batteries. Although only 1.2V instead of 1.5V. But if the lamp also thus cope, I'll get me batteries.
In stage 1, the lamp is very nice and bright and always sufficient for normal use, Stage 2 is actually similar for repair work required. The light is white - not warm white - and is scattered fairly decent. This is certainly not the non plus ultra, but it's okay.
The LED is unfortunately doesn't install replaceable bulb but firmly. Let's see if the LED or the on / off switch first gives up the ghost.
Conclusion:
An almost completely successful part of the battery compartment, there is a deduction of points! If you "not helpful" find this review, please post a comment, what you do not like. This helps everyone involved more than meaningless "unchecking"!
