On the first CD you will find "The Fellowship of the Ring" in two parts. The first will take about 11 minutes and includes the following pieces: The Prophecy, Concerning Hobbits, The Shadow of the Past, A Short Cut to Mushrooms, The Old Forest and A Knife in the Dark. I never thought it, that I can tell the difference between two conductors but here it is me noticed mainly by the speed of individual pieces to pieces on the CD, which was created under the direction of Howard Shore. I personally find but not bad at all but a welcome change. So get the whole Symphony your own touch and secretes some of the "other" soundtracks. The vocal pieces act as lively and emotional, because the album was recorded live in Switzerland and so it has again a novelty compared to the score.
The second part consists of: Many Meetings, The Ring Goes South, A Journey in the Dark, The Bridge of Khazad-dum, Lothlorien, Gandalf's Lament, Farwell to Lorien, The Great River and The Breaking of the Fellowship. This part takes about 35 minutes. Quite great listening pleasure for me there from 12:35 minutes because after that date "The Bridge of Khazad-dum" direction ends goes and there really everyone knows what happened. The vocal part is the original in every way and unfortunately fall far too short for my taste. Yet this slightly longer Minute produces a sad, hopeless and tragic feeling that even raises a goose bumps when writing me. That to me is the art of a perfect soundtrack! Of course I understand that the pieces are all in a somewhat gekürzteren version and that's a good thing! So you get all themes from the movie the best.
On the second CD continues with "The Two Towers". The first part of it will take about 18 minutes and has the title Foundations of Stone (Gollum's Theme fits more), The Tarming of Smeagol, The Riders of Rhoan, The Black Gate is Closed, Evenstar, The White Rider, Treebeard and The Forbidden Pool. Again, the choice of the pieces is perfectly done and I would not make any changes. In particular, the play "The Riders of Rhoan" it did to me at this track. The strength and the feeling of some hope comes this very good effect. The difference between the original and the Symphony one notices here the violin that sounds more intense than on the conventional CD.
After the first part ended with calm tones, begins the second part of the "Two Towers" strong and threatening. The pieces are The Hornburg, Forth Eorlingas, Isengard Unleashed and Gollum's Song. This section takes approximately 10 minutes. I am open to new ideas but unfortunately you can not convince me the lady in "Gollum's Song". The voice is good but does not match the track, since I prefer Emiliana Torrini (original) prior to 100%.
Well you're already in the last two parts of "The Return of the King". Here you have in the first part of the track Hope and Memory, The White Tree, The Steward of Gondor, Cirith Ungol and Anduril used for a period of 15 minutes. Wonderful pieces and played very well. The last part includes The End of All Things, The Return of the King, The Grey Havens and Into the West with a duration of 26 minutes. Especially with the last track you pull again all emotional registers and are again a little insight into almost all subjects with "Concerning Hobbits" (in The Grey Havens included) made the largest development. The piece at the end is the beginning of the 1st CD held a little quiet and "less" developed into a strong and adult piece. At the end it's "Into the West" with the same lady as with "Gollum's Song" and can not convince me too. For me personally, this part of the most emotional of the whole CD. Certainly looks that each listener differently but once I perceive it, just anything can be good!
Thus one also realizes that everything is live, there's applause
The presentation of the album is just as good as the content on the CD's. A beautiful and stable booklet with information, titles and images. The CDs were printed with film sketches and makes a high quality impression. Unfortunately, my copy was (was in film) buckled the booklet. Now you just need the concert on DVD / Blu-ray!
