The story is too original, it follows the adventures of four young girls sent by Louis XIV to conquer the New World to become wives for unmarried settlers. My niece was a little shocked to imagine that we can send girls like cattle (his own words) to the other side of the world. Fortunately continuing reading she loved it. For young teens the idea that girls did not have the freedom they now have is often difficult to grasp.
The 4 girls are all different, each with its own history and dreams. I look forward to reading more ... my niece too!
The only flaw of the book to be "vendor" with teens it's a bit too sober coverage.
I recommend!
