The display:
It's bigger than the iPad, also offers multi-touch. BUT: Multitouch works (yet), but will soon be available. The viewing angle is unacceptable for such a modern product, the picture quality is good, but worse than the iPad. But it responds well to touch.
Hardware / Power:
Theoretically clearly better than the iPad. USB, HDMI, faster processor, webcam. Here again a big but: HDMI works in my case, USB support is totally rudimentary. HD video stutter so that it makes little sense to look at this, the iPad has no problems here. However, the manufacturer wants to eliminate this shortcoming also via update.
Battery:
There's nothing here to report positive, test after 2 hours the battery is almost empty. Sure, as a Li-Ion battery will be a couple of times and discharged, but the performance will be determined not so much improved that it would be acceptable. Again, the reference to the iPad, the easy 6-8 hours by holding, depending on usage.
Software:
Is simply immature, many important and smaller functions either not work at all or only, yes I nenns times experimentally. Missing drivers and even things like the app market are not available.
Processing / material:
Honestly somehow seems cheap. However, very bad is the weight. The iPad is already relatively heavy, but the WeTab weighs over a whole kilo. Keeping the part longer in their hands, will quickly unpleasant and when ego then put on the table, I have to lean over it because I hardly know of light angle something.
This can not be remedied by updates
The Price:
Is around 50 euros lower than the iPad and you get this even more clearly. At least you would get this if everything would work as promised. Currently the price is unreasonable, all the flaws make the difference in price more than offset. If the most important functions are really up and running by updating the price is ok.
Compared with iPad:
Clear the comparison limps a bit because the WeTab rather is a netbook without Tastaur and the iPad "just" a tablet with a closed system. Nevertheless, it is so that many customers, like me, want to decide between the iPad and the WeTab because they polarize most. The biggest difference for me is that the WeTab has an open system and can more, the iPad but what it may be less, perfectly mastered and does not cause problems.
Conclusion:
On paper, the WeTab is much better than the iPad. In reality, the WeTab (still) is an immature product that is in the beta stage, something to deliver, after it actually even before the iPad was supposed to appear, is almost an insult. If, like me also has the iPad, you will return the WeTab. This significantly worse display, the lousy battery life, weight (> 1kg) and the software in beta tip the balance here.
If the error eradicated and dominates the WeTab someday everything, just as it is on paper, but it's really the perfect tablet.
Update:
There is actually an update of today, accelerometer and Bluetooth actually work, but multitouch is still not ...
