I think there is no reason to buy the much more expensive light band of Osram, the products have the same effect.
The brightness is very good, the colors clear. Even at a short distance to the illuminated surface is the color of pure (no rainbow effect), and the light is diffuse enough to see no light points but a uniform illuminated line.
There are 16 colors to choose from, which differ significantly and are well chosen, in my opinion. Only Yellow is light greenish with me. The white is indeed a cold color but not as so often bluish.
There are 4 automatic programs available: 7 colors 'Slow' blinking, pulsing white, 7 colors fade, 4 colors rapid flashing. These are all fairly quickly and are therefore perfect to attract attention (neon sign) but absolutely not for the spa (relaxing light changes).
The accessory remote control works at close range with direct contact to the receiver relatively well. Bad under all other conditions or not at all. Additional the receiver reacts to pretty much any standard household remote control resulting in sudden color changes.
If the band is not to be used at a time, it can be separated easily and with a minimum of effort and skill solder again or connect to cable (the supplied connector I have not tested since the recession here this are very bad).
