Now for the positive side of the battery grip.
The optics, Habtik and usability are perfectly fine. For the money I did not expect in any case. Here and there one could make the form more ergonomic.
Even the often-described unpleasant odor is not noticed much from the beginning, and after half a year the part smells normal.
All in all one can say that the handle for photographers who often find yourself in situations where they can miss important situations (weddings, sports, etc.) is completely unsuitable. The risk of "spontaneous Ausrasters" the handle is too high. And Zack, you have missed the kiss after the ceremony.
Photographers who are targeting more to double the battery power and the extra weight and maybe make more stills are served here well. The occasional defects are indeed annoying but bearable, if you want "just" photograph a landscape.
Perhaps the enormous price of Canon's but justified ...
