HEAVY RAIN is a mystery thriller game with a completely new approach to the game, a very nice atmosphere in the style of Fincher's SE7EN ... and extremely intelligent storyline! It's about building relationships with people and at the same time to chase a mysterious serial killer, from changing perspectives. Experienced players will stumble at first about the little getting used to control, since one in movement and actions is very limited ... And you can not just move the camera. It is virtually part of a movie and around you things happen that you can not control, incl. Camera and cuts as well as events. But still own decisions must be made in real time. The gameplay I've never experienced. As the hunt for the killer has the same status as, for example build a relationship with your son, or to cope with everyday life. And it's not about losing or winning, but the impasse contribute partially to the fun, a first dramatic low point has to be created as well as a movie. Everything revolves heavily around emotions as the love of one's child to the pain and loss of fear and hope. It's about inner conflicts and dealing with it ... and you can then simply do not always win. And above it all is the question: "How far would you go to save your son." Thus, the player must decide whether he is traveling on the highway against the direction of travel, a finger cut off or the deadly poison drink to save his son himself. A psycho test, which also is tested how far the players would go, or how much he would have qualms about killing for example, a family man.
The PS3, however, overwhelmed with the animation part, and especially in complex sequences gets my faltering. And unfortunately, the control is like saying something stupid and partly even experienced console gamers race here and there against the door frame. And the playing time would calm can be slightly longer than 10 hours. Otherwise TOP!
