Ashanti's 3rd album is finally here and is really as good as expected. I do not know which CD has heard my predecessor, but the beats and melodies on "Concrete Rose" differ significantly from each other - the CD is more versatile than the other 2 Ashanti albums. Now Title: Concrete Rose to show the connection of Hip Hop & R & B, so that for which Ashanti has become known. Hip-hop beats with R & B lyrics. And funktiniert in "Concrete Rose" very good. The first single, "Message to the Fans / Only You" brings The Inc back on top. A guitar riff with a Megabeat, very dark and of course a catchy hook: Finish is the best song ever Ashanti. Just beat the heavy likely 2nd single "Focus". Another highlight is the well of 7 Aurelius-produced "Turn it up" or "Do not leave me alone," a potential single release. Even Lloyd shines in "Take Me Tonight". From the lyrics of her strongest track and proof of Ashanti's continuous development are "Do not Let Them" and "Freedom". The latter in particular shows that Ashanti has the other R & B Babes talent of songwriting ahead. As with the gloomy "Then ya gone (f. / Chink Santana" from "Chapter II" album is the lyrics of Ms. Douglas not only about love stories. It is also worth to be the use of samples. For example, on the groovy "So Hot", which uses a beat from Jodeci and thus comes very old-school heavy. As a bonus, there's the tight remix of Yes's "Wonderful". "Concrete Rose" is summarized the best mix of R & B + Hip-Hop and shows Ashanti's talents from their 3 albums best: strong lyrics, groovy Jams and now even Burner as "Only U" for the clubs. What can go wrong there.
