With Acid Eaters The Ramones publish again a strong late work, as already "Mondo Bizarro" (1992) and "Adios Amigos" (1995), the "strong three". Acid Eaters is this time only cover versions, all of course packed in hard rock or punk sound. Starting with the The Who cover "Substitute", the dramatic crescendo "When I Was Young", the percussion-time vortex Rocker "7 and 7 is" and Creedence Clearwater Revival cover "Have you ever seen the Rain" is the album packed full of strong songs, to name just a few. The sound of the record is powerful with plenty of oomph (had the 90 productions of the Ramones so ansich), not so merh clatter as still in the 80s. For fans highly recommended, a one hundred percent convincing album!
