The Panasonic TZ22 is home to some technical refinements that are not initially expected in this class of camera. Touchscreen for fast relocation of the focus area etc, insanely fast continuous shooting and very good video function, and more. All this has earned extra points, if not the image quality would be moderate. I tested the camera for one week under a variety of conditions. The results are ambivalent. In the macro range, the image quality is excellent at the telephoto end and the wide angle end neatly, likely to be most commonly used in daily use, rather moderate. This aüßert the fact that fine structures when zooming in the picture look very quickly muddy and washed out. I then informed me on various test platforms that have come to similar conclusions. I still have an old Canon Ixus, with 4x zoom that significantly better in the image quality. I then returned the TZ22 and exchanged for a Canon SX230HS. The Canon has not so much technical features is not as fast in serial mode, but making in all areas tack-sharp images that are very good for this class. Also the noise performance is significantly better. Since images with ISO 800 go well okay.
