I bought this board along with my new steam generator iron Philips GC 8340/02, and thought to have chosen the perfect combination. For a producer of good steam ironing systems will probably also make good ironing boards, but ..
For quality
I noticed when unpacking forward to the good workmanship. When I had set up the ironing board, wobbled nothing. The frame is made of very thick, solid metal and can be adjusted to 94 cm in height in six settings from 70 cm, depending on the size of the ironer. A Child Lock feature prevents accidental collapse of the ironing board. In a household with small children this is of course an additional security and protects against injuries. The foot ends have non-slip caps made of hard plastic, which prevent slipping and ensure a secure footing. Weighing 8.8 kg of this board is also not too heavy and can be stored repeatedly.
The ironing surface
is made of a metal grid, which is covered with a cover. The board has an area of 120 x 45 cm, which I personally find very pleasant, as this larger parts such. As tablecloths, sheets etc. can be ironed better and especially faster. The ironing board cover has a surface made of 100% cotton, including a layer of foam and felt, which are intended to prevent the drop of condensation. However, this is not a well-designed aspect because it drips and drips. Already after a few minutes it will start to drop and you have to either put a towel under the ironing board, iron without steam or. At a board specifically for steam ironing systems so Dampfbügler, designed emit a lot of steam, this Getropfe is simply unacceptable. As is the competent engineers of manifest error of either the reference or the metal lattice. If someone has parquet or wooden floor, he should pay close attention, because this makes it possible to take significant damage.
The ShoulderWing system
is very pleasant when ironing shirts. Simply unfold the wings and you can already very nice iron the shoulders in dress shirts what's otherwise associated with some difficulties. If the wings are no longer needed, it can be solved at the bottom and then fixed under the board. I T-Shirts Bügle personally always flat, it does not bother me that the board by the fixed wing is now thicker. Who ironed though some might have problems because with a narrower T-Shirts etc..
The shirt hanger
at the end of the ironing board is a nice idea for people who z. B. ironing in the living room and have there not for shirts hanging hole. The same can be hung ironed shirts on a hanger and then hung on this linkage. So one must not constantly running to the closet, to hang there on the clothes rail. Of course, saves time and is very useful.
The storage basket
on the side of the ironing surface for remote controls, mobile phones and other small items. This is however not used by me, and is therefore to assess neutral.
The cable holder
Again, I must confess to not use them. I've ironed the previous model still without cable holder and the cable had also never had a problem. Again, a neutral rating.
The filing
is nice and wide and an ironing station fits perfectly on.
Conclusion: Basically this board is very nice if it were not for this Getropfe. Since this disturbs me quite bad design, I regret to two stars and can deduct an otherwise very good board unfortunately give only three stars.
Addendum:
For several months, I bow to this ironing table with another Ironing machines and realized to have this ironing table unfortunately wronged. The Tropferei has stopped, it collects below the ironing board out of water, which then drips. It was probably still only at the steam station, so it 2 stars to!
