I have the device now for about 3 weeks in operation and I am very happy with it, I would highly recommend it!
Power consumption:
Standby: less than 1 Watt (measured)
Operation: about 9-11 Watt (measured)
INSTALLATION:
On Time: about 21 seconds
Installation is simple, one feels at home immediately, a guide is not necessary, all self-explanatory. The menu is clearly structured and not somehow seen complicated nested as with other devices.
The tuning has instantly found all programs. It took about 15 minutes.
With a TechniSat TechniCrypt CW module and an ORF card work all Austrian channels in SD and HD.
Two criticisms there during the installation, however, and the really bother me, so also the point deduction.
In the channel list all channels can be sorted alphabetically or search directly with characters.
This goes in the edit menu in the programs you sort, rename, and delete can not. Here would be at least an alphabetical listing of helpful to delete duplicate programs.
The second point is that one transmitter has been stored in the Favorites list can not be sorted! I've helped so I added by the transmitter in the desired order in the Favorites list. But takes a long time to work.
The lack of TV channels search or alphabetical listing prolonged this process again.
The only remedy, from the menu out, looking in the channel list and select the channel and add back to the edit menu and the channel to the favorites. That was quicker than to scroll through 600 stations.
PVR:
The recorded files are to be played on a PC with the VLC Media Player is stored in the TS format which. The simple post-processing (eg cutting out advertising) with the AVS Video ReMaker is quick and without re-encoding available and takes less than one minute, this program can also be multiple files together into one.
As a storage medium I use a USB Flash Drive (Transcend JetFlash 600 32GB). Read: 30 MB / s 18 MB / s.
When I've ordered together I had due to some reviews fears that this might not function properly, with respect to the writing speed, but it works without problems. I then attempts a real slow USB stick and even this worked (Write
Also, two channels are recorded simultaneously if they are on the same transponder.
This works in SD and in HD.
Since I only use USB sticks is the 64GB and FAT32 limitation for me irrelevant.
DESIGN & ERGONOMICS:
The design of the device and the remote control is well done. On the instrument itself but that bothers me the very bright blue LED operation, these I have darkened. One shortcoming of the remote control is the key not be pressing very soft like other but that's in this price range already complain at a high level, there are a lot worse.
CONCLUSION:
For me, it's exactly what I was looking for at a price of covered up with my ideas.
So whoever has similar requirements as I should strike at this receiver.
