A write "visual" and fluid, with good construction and a rather literary vocabulary, but suddenly a little pedantic.
For cons, the story is a little boat: the saga, through several generations, residents of the house called. It's very "4 Little Women," "Jalna", even a little "Gone With The Wind" ... without anything of their intensity. Another problem is that the characters are in no endearing; or they lack the texture, or they are simply annoying, lackluster or cutesy.
In short, it is romantic to perfection, but without great depth in portraits or in the plot, which is simply driven by the movements of history ... and the love stories of the simple-minded hero (ine) s.
Finally, it reads rather well, given the lack of density. I will not read it, nor would have made my bedside book, but a book to read across, to relax on a sun lounger ... then forget no problem.
