Rediscover this classic children's literature, which I knew through adaptations has been a real pleasure for me. Although relatively slow to start, this novel is still taking good and I must say that the character of Long John Silver has much: despite his charismatic shaped face "York ham" (as what, everything is possible), opportunistic, affable and a casually hilarious, he is my favorite character. Treasure Island would not be the same novel without it! Thus, it is easily carried away by the adventure narrated by Jim Hawkins. Far from any Manichaeism, the twists are waiting for you and we will follow with delight the trials of the young hero. We tremble for his life and admire his courage in facing the formidable pirate.
Despite a rather long plot to set in, Treasure Island is a classic that has not taken a single wrinkle. I enjoyed discovering the pirates had fantasized vision Stevenson, to whom we owe much. Amateurs of adventures at sea and charismatic pirate, so go ahead: to the collision!
