After more than a year with me the Telekom Speedport chinaware (921V) rumärgere (lt. Hotline is my router "attacked" not exchange therefore) I was looking for a suitable replacement.
Most routers fall by at least at the fiber ports. The routing throughput is not enough for 100Mbit or 200Mbit in my case. The next hook is, alas, the need for VLAN tagging on the WAN port.
The Fritz box 7490 has not only not enough steam but can communicate with the telecom modem fine. Setup is simple as usual by AVM. (Login information).
Important Info: To activate the Internet access via LAN 1 has to be switched (at the bottom of the Fritz Admin page) to "Expert mode".
IP telephony and Entertain work splendidly.
Switching worth:
- The Fritz box is a tick faster than the Speedport (Ping).
- WLAN in the ac standard is a dream (terminal required)
- Integrated DECT (about running the home automation)
- Guest WLAN
- Very stable wireless
- Smartphone Apps for Administration, Call Logs
- Fax Feature
- Comfortable IP Telephone Options.
- Protection of minors Funktionaltiät. (Filter)
and for the hobby Admin
- Lots of options. (As opposed to the handful of the offering, the Speedport)
- NAS + MyFRITZ are nice additions.
- Priority of IPs / ports / applications can be set.
- WakeOnLan via Internet (for forwarded ports)
