I tried 2 Slide duplicators sold on AMAZON
All come with a 2 lens.
They can be used
- With the lens (in this case it is located between the tube and the objective of the device picture)
- Or without the lens. In this case the tube is screwed on the lens and the lens on the objective of the device picture.
1 The POLAROID
The product comes in a diameter of 52 mm + 58 mm ring.
A With the lens, it can be used with all lenses to the diameter 52 or 58 mm.
But the result is BLUR.
Conclusion: this is unusable.
B Without the lens.
The result is EXCELLENT.
But this only works if or has Macro lens (without Macro lens, it is impossible to focus).
But we have a framing worry.
Lai I used a box cameras with APS-C sensor (like the Nikon Milie) and the Canon 60mm Macro. The POLAROID framework that does about 80% of the slide.
We should do tests with other macro lenses (including 100 mm) and a box "full frame".
CONCLUSION
Recommended product.
It is unacceptable that all this is not indicated by the manufacturer and the distributor.
The manufacturer should deliver several lengths of tubes adapted to the different objectives Macro market. This is not complicated, there are very few.
It is unacceptable that a lens is delivered that causes blur.
And that's a shame, because placed under the right conditions of use, that is to say without the lens and with a length of tube proper, the result would be excellent.
2 Somikon delivered by PEARL RELEASE
The product comes in diameter and 52 mm PEARL offers additional rings covering all LENS diameters.
A With the lens, it can be used on all lenses to the diameter of 52 or another or by purchasing the rings that go.
The result is VERY GOOD.
B Without the lens.
The result is EXCELLENT.
But here we have a prime concern "idiot".
With the lens, we said that the Somikon screws into the goal.
But if the lens is removed, one can attach more on a 52 mm diameter objective as the threads of the tube will not Completion end!
By cons, if you have a goal that has a different diameter of 52 mm and for which therefore buy an adapter ring of the tube allows the thread to mount on the ring.
Again, without the lens, this only works if or has Macro lens (without Macro lens, it is impossible to focus).
So I've been able to use it with the objective Canon 24-70 f 4 IS, which has a 70 mm Macro position. There, I met a new concern but opposed framing.
The Somikon framework "broad" and there is a large black frame around the slide. Then just crop the picture in a processing software (Photoshop, Photoshop Elements, Lightroom, or free, Gimp Photofiltre etc.).
To use it on the 60 mm Macro diameter of 60 mm, it should find a ring of 52 mm to 52 mm. As this is silly, it does not exist. It will therefore probably be a mounting ring type 52 mm to something else, for example 58 mm (or 67, or 77) over second ring 58 mm (or 67, or 77) to 52 mm.
CONCLUSION
Product advised with or without lens.
It is unacceptable that all this is not indicated by the manufacturer and the distributor.
The manufacturer should deliver
- Several lengths of tubes adapted to the different objectives Macro market. This is not complicated, there are very few.
- And either a threaded pipe Completion end, a ring 52 to 52 mm.
