Voltaire; Fanaticism or Mahomet the Prophet

This play is worth reading, ALTHOUGH it's helpful to read Both the "Notice of the editor" (Beginning) and "Fury and seduction" (end) to appreciate fully Voltaire's purpose: otherwise It Could be all too easy to interpret this play selon to one's own partisan views (even DESPITE has knowledge of Voltaire 's other works). I interpret the political messaage as "Beware extremism" - very relevant to our own times. dtholli
