I use the Player to listen to in the subway talking books and listen to music at the gym. For the audio books in the public me the Digital Noise Canceling function was important. This works quite well so far, however, only with the original headphones. However, they are used to and certainly not for everyone, because they produce now and then an unpleasant pressure in the ear.
As canned music of SONY succeeded. With 16 GB you get neat stuff on it and the sound is very good. One can reasonably click through the collection and quickly find the desired album, artist, and / or a specific cover. Annoying, though, is that after a while the volume is drastically reduced and indicates a warning on the display for possible hearing loss.
For the full enjoyment of my audio books I miss painfully the opportunity within a MP3 file to navigate. Some chapters are 20 to 30 minutes or longer and must be paused when you arrive at work or at the gym. While the player starts in most cases back where you left off but woe to verklickt itself or wants in between listen to while exercising music then it's looking for and / or hear the chapter again. The bookmarks are rather useless here. One can find via the bookmark was last chapter, however, it starts again at the beginning of the MP3 file. Correct annoying it is, if not the next chapter but the next bookmark will be played in the following list. So there were manually navigate back to the last good when you have thrown a look at the chapter and / or track number!
There is a point deduction.
Next, of course, is to complain about the Sony's own USB cable. Not the point!
Another point deduction.
So do not get me wrong, I like the player but for 139.00 I expect a bit more.
PS
Just the firmware 1:01 partly filled but the criticized points are unchanged
