By often factual and little emotional way the author describes her childhood, in the family of a disaster is sliding into the next and everything is getting worse, the book for me was hard to read. I asked myself all the time, as the children endure all this, and they admired for their toughness and their will to live. When embarking on the book, one is glad when it's over and have at least 3 of 4 children made their way, amazingly, somehow. As you have succeeded, has not been revealed to me quite as a psychotherapist. Good is also described how the author tries to take her parents to protect and explain why they are the way they are. I was the book touched and impressed. I think it is especially recommended for people who are interested in family dynamics and pathological family systems.
