It's been a while since I was eyeing the acquisition of this type of clamps to my woodworking shop / amateur sculpture. For the construction of my kitchen entirely of wood, I wanted a quick clamping system, usable with one hand (which allows good holding in position the workpiece with the other hand without using a third party.) These clamps are ideal for this. They allow eg to maintain a door in a frame before drawing the ripping marks for laying hinges; maintain an internal amount before attaching the cabinet with system screws "kreg"; to perfectly maintain the square position of the four sides of a drawer during the delicate phase bonding ... But also to maintain a piece of wood for work of routing, sanding, cutting edge in bench, etc. . Everyone working wood know how painful it is to always have to use clamps to pump to maintain a room a few moments. Using quick clamps is very significant in this case and it is probably for this very purpose they were designed. I confess I have not had to use the "spreader": this may be useful for designs photo frames or tables, with a clamp based "distance" inside and according to "clamp" to the outside of each end of the frame ... to allow greater precision of the adjustment of angles during the critical phase of the final cementing.
By cons, these clamps, despite a 250kg pressure certainly not replace the presses for gluing boards together in the design of large panels. However, they will help increase the contact pressure between the presses, manufacturing is the "greenhouse extensions seals" (easy to manufacture wood). It is good to add that these clamps in sufficient numbers, may well act as a small press for bonding two see three short boards together to the small paneling, comfortable thanks to the pressure of 250 kg.
One comment indicates that there is no system of "auto backspace" (of spring) when releasing the clamp which, according to the author, would require use of both hands to loosen a room. Yet it is quite possible to disengage the clamp and pulling the handle backwards, to proceed to release the piece. This is done alone with one hand ...
