Target person: My grandmother, 86 years, hearing and vision is declining gradually. Get along now for 86 years without SMS, mobile photos, mobile radio, etc., it is also able to convince no one of such frills.
Target device: mobile phone only to make phone calls; intuitive operation; SOS function; robust device that can fall sometimes; Clamshell as automatic keylock to irritating
The decision for the Panasonic was scarce and was not easy.
Doro 610gsm advantages:
- Very easy to understand manual, which further helps my grandma
- You can hide functions, make the menu as simple as possible
- Super: you can store medical data for emergencies
- Overall impression was immediately positive, my grandmother was very difficult to dissuade from the device again. Design, processing, display and key pressure point to make clear that Doro specializes in mobile phones for seniors.
Why then but the Panasonic?
- The emergency function worked in a practical test (still) a little more smoothly than at Doro. Unlike claims by Stiftung Warentest, the emergency call (not more) will be in vain, if an answering machine rangeht.
- GPS function: The device sends emergency SMS with coordinates, you can see live on Google Earth, from which the emergency call has been sent, and quickly come to the rescue
- The outer shell was my grandma Although less chic than the Doro, but it is less scratch-prone and follows according to Panasonic military standard, ie: the device can withstand even minor bumps, can sometimes fall.
All in all, both very good equipment. I was convinced at the end of the Panasonic but still a little more. It is more expensive, but the margin of safety was me then worth the price.
