The following problem has been put to me in my Car-PC retrofitting in my BMW E46.
A prerequisite was the original BMW 16: 9 Monitor continues to use
For this purpose, behind the BMW video module or a spec. Video Interface (sRGB) for image processing necessary. A Raspberry PI fully combined with XBMC and a bus interface replaces the Navirechner my BMWs.
So next step is to be realized, the audio connection. For this you would need to upgrade a radio module and an AUX function. Used cost the youngest radio module with the latest plug-in system (2006) 200-500 Euro, which is of course total usury and especially the radio module is not very robust.
The original radio has an amplifier output of approx 4x15W (Business CD43), the Professional radio module 4x20W would have.
So that, I have to buy a radio module was the solution to hang an amplifier directly to the boxes. But many amplifiers are very large and require additional cable runs or cross-sections.
Shortly after, I'm on the amplifier of Auna (Basetech, ONEconcept) encountered both Clarion and Alpine offer small "Radio Amplifier" This also determines better but have naturally DIN connector that you would prepare only.
For amplifier itself:
Delivery was very quick and without any problems, the device is about Faust large and the processing is really not bad! For the boxing and the power supply lines are supplied with backup. So that makes everything a good impression.
I tested the speakers at two 20W LS Sharp with 8 ohms. Sound is ok no blast. The filter "Low - Off - High" is useable should not (Quality slider looks a bit cheap, but is not yet loose, etc.) are very heavily used.
The setting of the amplifier can make as with any other amplifier.
In the car:
My BMW has only the stereo sound system, for me personally it really enough I find the sound of the stereo speakers from BMW really did not **** K for the age (15 years). So back in the car connected the speakers, remote, power supply and ground. Combined with two Y-RCA and a jack for my audio source (iPod or iPhone with me).
Sound:
I have not yet all set correctly in the car, but the sound surpasses my original radio definitely, not much but I'm sure that would even measurable. The sound is very clear on the stereo speakers and the bass just as well come over as the OEM radio.
And more I actually did not expect.
The encouraging thing is I have no parasitic coupling, no alternator whistle, whistle, hum, or otherwise.
Just as the wifi on my iPhone was still on, one could perceive a disturbance, so I've also home to my home system if I connect the iPhone via jack so it's ok.
Long-term experience:
Unfortunately, I can not have any so will make the show in the coming weeks.
Conclusion:
If you look at the value for money you make here once nothing wrong with buying a radio with the same performance would (with cheaper China Plastic optics) start at 50 euros and not only at 25 euros.
If you want to have something small to radio level what one also can obstruct good or because you generally abandoned on a radio or retrofit a radio on a PC etc. which is the small amplifiers I think good advice. How does the device for a long time suggests that in the car, I will report as soon as I have experienced.
Transitional until I move the boxes and may obstruct a full-active system reaches the absolutely!
MFG
